Rising from the ashes of stoner/doom legends Obsessed during the small genre's most fertile post‐Kyuss period, Goatsnake helped define southern California's low‐and‐slow metal scene during the late nineties. With releases on Hydrahead Records, Frank Kozik's famed Man's Ruin, and finally settlingly with the mighty Southern Lord Records (co‐owned by guitarist Greg Anderson), Goatsnake could be considered one of the quintessential stoner/doom bands of their time.

Flower of Disease was originally released on vinyl by Southern Lord in 2000 but has been long out of print. Southern Lord and Burning World Records have worked together in making the Goatsnake discography available again on vinyl. After Flower of Disease, the double set I + Dog Days will be released as well in June/July of 2010. The massive reunion show on Roadburn 2010 will surely revive the interest in this cult doom band with Greg Anderson (Sunn o)))), Guy Pinhas (The Obsessed), Greg Rogers (The Obsessed) and Pete Stahl (Scream, Wool).

VENTURA, from Lausanne, Switzerland, had the honor, early 2010, to work and have fun with DAVID YOW (SCRATCH ACID / THE JESUS LIZARD / QUI). After practicing, recording and making a video, they went on the road together for some amazing shows in Switzerland, France and Germany. Two songs were recorded with Serge Morattel and Raphaël Bovey and mastered by John Golden in Ventura,CA. These are now released as a 7” on Lausanne Records.

AUXES is the brainchild of Dave Laney, also known as guitarist and founding member of the bands MILEMARKER and CHALLENGER. AUXES’ second LP, “Ichkannnichtmehr” (Gunner Records, 2010) represents a shift in approach and in the life of its principal protagonist. In mid 2009, Dave Laney made the move overseas, now residing in his newly adopted hometown of Hamburg, Germany. Musically, this has resulted in a stripped-down, aggressive punk rock sound- fitting for a city where cop cars are routinely set on fire. Drum duties on the record are split between Florian Brandel (known for his work with AIRPEOPLE and the legendary ENIAC) and Noah Leger (MILEMARKER, HEAD OF SKULLS). Other players include Pete Wagner, steady AUXES bassist since 2008, Al Burian (MILEMARKER, CHALLENGER), and Tim Remis (SWEET COBRA, CHALLENGER, MILEMARKER). The shifting line-up adds spontaneity and tension to live performances, with audiences never knowing quite what to expect, save for one certainty: that the music will kick their ass. For March / April 2010 Auxes are planning a tour through all of western and eastern europe to support their album.
